Terms and Conditions – Online Pet Showing
Last Updated: 30 June 2026
Introduction
This document ("Agreement") sets out the terms and conditions that apply to use of the onlinepetshowing.com website ("Website") and any related products, services, competitions or features ("Services"). By accessing the Website, using the Services or entering a competition, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Online Pet Showing is operated by Jasmine Powell trading as Online Pet Showing.
In these Terms, "Operator", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Online Pet Showing. "You", "your" and "User" refer to any person using the Website, entering a competition or accessing the Services. If you use the Website or Services on behalf of a business, organisation or other legal entity, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
If you do not agree to these Terms, or do not have authority to accept them on behalf of the relevant person or organisation, you must not use the Website, Services or enter any Online Pet Showing competition.
By accessing the Website, using the Services or submitting an entry, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and the Operator, even though they are provided electronically and are not physically signed.
1. General Guidelines
Online Pet Showing is a pet-focused recreational online competition unless stated otherwise.
Online Pet Showing is not affiliated with any breed registry, pet organisation, kennel club, breed society or showing association unless expressly stated.
Equines are not eligible for Online Pet Showing classes. Images where a horse is the main subject, without another eligible pet clearly present as the primary entry, will not be accepted.
2. Participation Disclaimer
Participation in Online Pet Showing is entirely at the entrant’s own risk. By entering, you acknowledge that entries are judged against the criteria of the class entered and that any rosettes, awards or prizes are provided as part of a recreational competition.
Rosettes are free gifts and have no monetary value. Submitting an entry does not create any automatic entitlement to a rosette, prize, award or placing.
The Operator accepts no liability for injuries, incidents, losses, costs or damage arising from participation, except where liability cannot legally be excluded. Judges’ decisions are final and must not be challenged. Refunds are not provided for unplaced entries except where required by law. Refunds are not provided for unused entries except where required by law and subject to any lawful deduction for processing, payment or transaction fees.
3. Entries and Image Requirements
Image Ownership and Permissions
Entrants must own, or have explicit written permission to use, every photograph, video or image submitted.
Images with watermarks across the pet or main subject may be refused. Advertising marks, photographer credits or small watermarks may be accepted where they do not obscure the pet or interfere with judging.
Entrants must have permission from all identifiable individuals shown in an entry. This includes owners, handlers, family members, children and any other person visible in the image or video.
Misuse of photographs, videos or other content may result in disqualification and may, at the Operator’s discretion, lead to a permanent ban from Online Pet Showing.
Editing Rules
Basic editing is permitted where it improves the quality or presentation of an image without changing the pet itself. This may include brightness, contrast, saturation, exposure, sharpness, colour balance, cropping, straightening and black-and-white conversion, including selective colour.
Filters, including filters from social media applications, are permitted but not encouraged. Background changes are permitted only where the replacement background is a single solid colour.
Minor removals, such as leads or small distractions, are permitted only where they do not alter the pet’s natural appearance, markings, conformation, colour, shape, condition or presentation.
All permitted editing must be completed manually using traditional, non-AI editing tools. Editing must not change the pet’s physical characteristics.
Prohibited Additions
Editing must not add new visual elements to the pet or substantially change the original scene.
The pet’s natural appearance, markings, coat colour, body shape, condition or expression must not be altered, enhanced or manipulated.
Elements that were not present in the original photograph must not be added unless the class description specifically allows them. Decorative text, borders and clipart are allowed across classes, provided they do not cover, distort or alter the pet or the original photographed environment.
Minor creative additions are allowed only where they are clearly permitted in the relevant class criteria.
AI Restrictions
AI is not permitted unless a class specifically states that AI editing is accepted.
AI tools, AI-assisted features, automated retouching, background generation, object removal, object addition, generative fill or any technology that automatically creates, fills, replaces or alters image content must not be used.
Any entry found to have used AI in breach of these Terms may be disqualified.
Submission and Entry Requirements
All entries must be submitted in their completed state. The Operator does not provide editing, collage-making, background-changing or correction services.
The Operator may request the original, unedited file to verify authenticity. Failure to provide this when requested may result in disqualification without refund, unless a refund is required by law.
Each entry must include the entrant’s full name, consisting of first name and surname, together with the pet’s name. Initials, nicknames, social media handles, business names, stable names or incomplete names may not be accepted as a substitute for a full entrant name.
Surnames must be included on the entry form. If a surname is missing, incomplete or unclear, Online Pet Showing may use information provided elsewhere on the same entry form, order, account, payment processor transaction or checkout information to identify the entrant.
If Online Pet Showing cannot identify a full first name and surname, the entry may be held back and may not be uploaded, processed, judged, published or included in results until the missing information is provided. No refund will be given where an entry cannot be processed because the entrant failed to provide the required name information, unless required by law.
By entering, you agree that your full name and pet’s name may be used for show administration, judging records, results, placings, prize fulfilment, rosette fulfilment, website publication and social media publication in accordance with these Terms.
Social media handles and promotional wording will not usually be published, except where a photographer credit is appropriate.
Permission must be obtained for professionally taken images before they are submitted.
Images showing unsafe handling, poor welfare, distress, inappropriate treatment or unsuitable content may be marked down, refused or removed at the Operator’s discretion. Entrants are expected to ensure that all pets are handled safely, appropriately and with due care.
Repeat Image Restriction — Winning Entries
Any photograph or collage awarded 1st place in an Online Pet Showing competition must not be entered again into the same class, another class or any later show operated by the Operator for one (1) calendar month after the results are announced.
This restriction applies to the original winning entry and to versions that are substantially the same. This includes cropped, edited, resized, filtered, colour-adjusted, rearranged or otherwise altered versions where the overall photograph, layout or visual content remains materially the same.
A new collage may be accepted during the restriction period if it is genuinely different in layout and overall composition, does not copy the structure of the winning collage, and includes at least one different photograph that was not part of the winning collage.
An individual photograph that appeared within a winning collage may only be entered as a standalone image during the restriction period if the winning collage contained four (4) or more photographs. The standalone photograph must not recreate the same composition or structure as the winning collage.
The Operator has final discretion to decide whether an entry is a repeat, reproduction, derivative version or sufficiently different entry. Any entry found to breach this restriction may be disqualified without refund.
4. Classes and Deadlines
Classes with fewer than ten entries may be extended to the following month.
Submission deadlines may be changed at the Operator’s discretion. Each pet and owner combination may enter the same class more than once.
For collage classes, entrants must create and submit their own collages. The Operator does not provide this service unless expressly stated.
The Operator may withdraw, merge, amend or cancel classes at any stage. Where this happens, entries may be transferred or deferred, but no additional refund or compensation will be provided unless required by law.
5. Refunds and Eligibility
Refunds are provided only at the Operator’s discretion, except where required by law. Processing fees, payment fees or transaction fees may be deducted from refunds where this is legally permitted.
Nothing in these Terms affects statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Free entries and unused loyalty points are non-refundable and have no cash equivalent.
Refunds are not provided for unplaced entries except where required by law. Refunds are not provided for judged entries, unused entries or entries disqualified for breach of these Terms, unless the Operator decides otherwise or a refund is required by law.
If an entry is not eligible for the class entered, the entrant may be offered the option to move the entry to another suitable class or defer it to a future show.
6. Rosettes and Prizes
Rosettes are not guaranteed and are subject to availability unless stated otherwise.
Newcomers free rosettes apply only where eligibility conditions are met and stock is available. To qualify, the entrant must purchase two full-priced entries, one of which must be an eligible Newcomers entry.
Rosette designs, styles, colours, wording, awards and prize items may be changed without notice.
First-place physical prizes are only guaranteed to UK residents. Due to postal, customs and fulfilment restrictions, first-place physical prizes may not be available for delivery outside the UK, including to EU member states or certain other countries, unless expressly stated otherwise. Where a first-place physical prize cannot be shipped, no replacement prize, refund or cash alternative will be issued.
Prizes for sponsored classes are supplied and fulfilled by the sponsor. Sponsored prizes are non-transferable, non-substitutable and have no cash alternative.
Unclaimed rosettes and prizes are retained for six months and are then forfeited.
Entrants are responsible for ensuring that postal and contact details are accurate. Addresses supplied through PayPal or another payment processor are not automatically used unless expressly requested or confirmed. The Operator is not responsible for items lost, delayed or misdirected because incorrect or incomplete details were provided.
7. Postage and Delivery
UK entrants receive free standard delivery using a postal service selected by the Operator. This may include Royal Mail Second Class or another suitable service. Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
Upgraded postage options may be available at an additional cost where offered at checkout.
International entrants are responsible for all postage fees, customs charges, import duties, taxes and any other delivery-related costs.
International items may be declared at the appropriate entry, prize or item value for customs compliance.
The Operator is not responsible for items lost, delayed or damaged in transit.
8. Free Entries and Loyalty Points
One free entry is awarded for every two full-price entries purchased to a specific class, excluding charity entries and “Everyone’s a Winner” classes.
Free entries must be used within their validity period and cannot be exchanged, refunded or converted into cash.
Loyalty points accrue at a rate of one point per £3.50 spent on paid entries, excluding charity entries and “Everyone’s a Winner” classes.
Loyalty points are valid for 12 months from the date of the last qualifying purchase.
Loyalty points are awarded to the first entrant named on the entry form only and cannot be split, transferred or divided between multiple people. If you would like the loyalty points to be awarded to a specific person, please ensure that person’s name is entered first on the entry form.
9. Judging, Results and Publication
Judging begins after the official closing date. Judges have three days to provide results.
The Operator aims to publish results as soon as reasonably possible, but publication may be delayed. The Operator accepts no liability for delayed results or late publication.
Judges, their close family members and anyone with a close personal connection to the judge must not enter classes judged by that judge. Where a conflict of interest or personal connection exists, entries may be reassigned at the Operator’s discretion.
Ring 1 and Ring 2 Championship Awards
Where Ring 1 Championship and Ring 2 Championship awards are offered, each entrant may win no more than one championship title in the same show.
If the same entrant qualifies for both the Ring 1 Championship and the Ring 2 Championship at the same show, Online Pet Showing reserves the right to award that entrant one championship title only.
Where this occurs, Online Pet Showing may reallocate, adjust or withhold the remaining championship award at its discretion. All decisions relating to Ring 1 Championship awards, Ring 2 Championship awards, reallocations, eligibility and final results are made by the Operator and are final.
Publication of Entries, Results, Names and Pet Names
By entering an Online Pet Showing competition, you acknowledge and agree that submitted photographs, videos, entrant first name and surname, pet name, class information, placings and results may be publicly displayed, published, shared, reposted and archived by Online Pet Showing.
This may include publication on www.onlinepetshowing.com, Online Pet Showing social media pages, online results pages, promotional posts, class galleries, winner announcements and related marketing or administrative materials.
By entering, you grant Online Pet Showing non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to use, reproduce, publish, display, share and store submitted entries, together with the entrant’s full name and pet’s name, for the purpose of running, promoting, recording and archiving Online Pet Showing competitions.
This permission applies before, during and after the relevant competition and may continue after an entrant’s participation has ended.
Entrants are responsible for ensuring they have all required permissions from photographers, owners, handlers, parents, guardians and any other identifiable individuals shown in or connected with the entry.
Where a person under 18 appears in an entry, parental or guardian consent must be obtained before submission.
For clarity, copyright ownership in submitted photographs is not transferred to Online Pet Showing. Submitted photographs are not placed into the public domain. However, entries and associated names may be publicly visible once submitted and may remain visible online after the competition has ended.
10. Code of Conduct
Disrespectful behaviour, abusive communication, harassment, threats, bullying, dishonesty or failure to comply with these Terms may result in disqualification, removal from the Website, refusal of future entries or a permanent ban at the Operator’s discretion.
Defamatory, misleading or false statements about the Operator, judges, sponsors, entrants or Online Pet Showing, whether made online or offline, may result in immediate exclusion.
11. Child Safety and Consent
Entrants must be aged 18 or over or have permission from a parent or guardian.
Where any individual under 18 appears in an entry, explicit parental or guardian permission must be obtained before submission.
Entries may be removed where consent cannot be verified or where the Operator has concerns about child safety, privacy or welfare.
12. Data Protection and Privacy
Personal data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR.
Personal data may be used for show administration, entry processing, judging, results publication, prize and rosette fulfilment, customer support, legal compliance, fraud prevention, record keeping and the promotion and archiving of Online Pet Showing competitions.
This may include the publication of entrant names, pet names, photographs, videos, class details, placings and results on www.onlinepetshowing.com, Online Pet Showing social media pages and related Online Pet Showing materials.
Payment, order and contact information may also be used where necessary to verify entries, identify entrants, process orders, publish results, fulfil prizes or rosettes, and resolve disputes.
Where an entry includes a person under 18, the entrant confirms that appropriate parental or guardian consent has been obtained before submission.
13. Miscellaneous Provisions
All rosettes are handmade and may vary slightly in colour, size, design, finish or detail.
Participants must notify the Operator of any change to contact, delivery or account details.
The Operator is not liable for delays, interruptions or failures caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including postal disruption, technical issues, illness, supplier delays, platform outages or other events outside the Operator’s control.
14. Links to Other Resources
The Website and Services may include links to third-party websites, platforms or resources.
Such links are provided for convenience only and do not imply endorsement, approval or responsibility for third-party content.
Users access third-party websites and resources at their own risk.
15. Prohibited Uses
Users must not misuse the Website, Services or competitions.
Prohibited uses include unlawful activity, infringement of intellectual property rights, harassment, abuse, fraud, impersonation, malicious code, spamming, obscene conduct, interference with Website security or any action that disrupts or damages the Website, Services, Operator, entrants, judges or sponsors.
Breaches may result in termination of access, refusal of entries, disqualification or further action where appropriate.
16. Intellectual Property Rights
All intellectual property rights in the Website, branding, written content, graphics, logos, materials and Services remain with the Operator or relevant licensors.
Use of the Website or Services does not grant any licence to copy, reproduce, modify, republish or use Online Pet Showing trademarks, branding, content or materials except as expressly permitted.
These Terms are the intellectual property of Online Pet Showing and may not be copied or republished without written permission.
17. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to the above, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator’s total liability is limited to one pound (£1) or the amount paid by the User in the one-month period preceding the event giving rise to liability, whichever is greater.
18. Indemnification
Users agree to indemnify and hold the Operator harmless against claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses arising from user content, misuse of the Website or Services, breach of these Terms, or infringement of any rights belonging to another person or organisation.
19. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that part will be treated as removed only to the extent necessary.
The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
20. Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or connected with these Terms, the Website, the Services or Online Pet Showing competitions.
21. Changes and Amendments
The Operator may amend these Terms at any time.
Continued use of the Website, Services or entry into any Online Pet Showing competition after changes are made will constitute acceptance of the updated Terms.
The version of these Terms in force at the time an entry is submitted will apply to that entry unless a change is required by law or is administrative in nature.
22. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Website, using the Services or entering any Online Pet Showing competition, you confirm that you accept and agree to these Terms.
